In this role, you’ll combine your passion and enthusiasm for cutting-edge emerging technologies with your unmatched creativity to advance the state of digital payments in the MENA region among developers, merchants, partners and key industry opinion makers and technologists.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct deep-dive “hands-on” education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to others on the team on emerging technologies
• Develop and lead workshops and collaborative sessions across teams within APS
• Develop and pitch new project ideas and opportunities
• Developing emerging tech long term strategy and roadmap
• Gaining industry recognition and credibility as attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at Amazon and third party technology conferences, hackathons, workshops and events
• Negotiate and close on internal and external partnerships to advance applications of emerging technologies within APS
• Provide on-demand expertise/recommendations to current and prospective merchants on leveraging emerging technologies within their respective businesses
• Monitor emerging technologies (e.g. AI, BlockChain, IoT, AR/VR) with a particular focus on Fintech (e.g. Crypto, Open Banking) and build an understanding of their
• potential, maturity, and impact to APS.
• Establish tests and pilot projects leveraging emerging technologies, and provide recommendations
• Author or contribute to APS merchant-facing publications such as white papers, tutorials, etc.
• Weave usage of emerging technologies into APS’ product roadmap

Job Requirements:

• Visible thought leadership on relevant topics related to emerging technologies
• Proficiency in defining and managing business requirements and outcomes with broader team, and working with technical teams to create and integrate relevant projects into your vision
• Ability to tailor your communication style, approach, and level of detail based on audience (tech and non-tech)
• Broad understanding of many areas of emerging technology, with deep expertise in one or more of the following areas: Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented
• Reality, Distributed Ledger Technology, Metaverse, Internet of Things.
• Ability to bring order to projects in undefined opportunity areas or with gaps in information. Clarify, prioritize, and guide teams to meaningful and measurable outcomes.

Qualification & Experience:

• Market experience in financial services or payments preferred
• Advanced degrees in engineering and/or computer science preferred
• Experience in technical product management, program management or engineering
• 15+ years of relevant experience. BS level degree required, computer science, business or math background preferred
• Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• Experience with end to end product delivery
