Job Description:

The Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution Officer will be responsible for student conduct administration and reinforcement of student conduct policies and processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Student Residential Life Department, Campus Security, students and other AUS units.
  • Contribute towards development of process and strategies for bettering SCCR services.
  • Assist SCCR with assessment initiatives.
  • Respond to student misconduct cases; investigate, write reports, suggest resolution options and consult with the Senior Manager on case resolution options.
  • Provide weekly and monthly reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Manager-SCCR.
  • Ensure conduct processes are implemented consistently with the university’s set procedures.
  • Offer team support in Student Code of Conduct policies and awareness activities.
  • Verify student conduct records upon request of AUS units and schools and colleges.
  • Handle departmental caseload.
  • Offer support to Senior Manager-SCCR in administering Peer Mediation Training.
  • Assist Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (SCCR) team in daily operations and administrative functions.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality with respect to information shared and SCCR document storage.
  • Maintain adequate and up-to-date student conduct records.

Job Requirements:

  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to investigate and write reports
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, decision making and communication skills
  • Strong English communication and writing skills
  • Understanding of best practices in student conduct administration
  • Knowledge of student infraction management system, working with Banner
  • Knowledge of AUS’ student conduct policies and processes
  • Knowledge of student conduct operations and implementing policies and processes
  • Knowledge of different conflict resolution mechanisms

Qualification & Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with students in higher education
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s degree
