Job Description:

The American University in the Emirates is looking for a Network Security Engineer in the Information Technology Department

Responsible for the provisioning, deployment, configuration, and administration of many different pieces of network and security-related hardware and software. These include firewalls, routers, switches, various network-monitoring tools, and virtual private networks (VPNs).

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform vulnerability and networking scanning assessments
• Hands-on experience on Windows Servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP & Server hardware technologies
• Understanding of IP routing, TCP/IP ports and services
• Support and administrate different security devices (SonicWall,Fortinet,etc.) in line with IT security policy
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Administer Cisco routers & switches
• Maintenance of LAN and WAN Networking systems
• Switching (VLans, STP, trucking etc.) and general networking
• Knowledge of Veeam Backup and Replication
• Monitoring of web security gateways, perimeter security, network access controls, endpoint security
• Good Knowledge of Virtualization environments & SAN Storage solutions
• Solid understanding of the Linux OS and its underlying components

Job Requirements:

• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
• Experience in planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards and procedures
• Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime as required, should be available 24/7 on call in case of major services outage
• Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods
• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
• Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods
• Must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced work environment.
• Experience in Office 365 and Microsoft 365 Security Suite
• Experience in performing systems administration in Linux or VMware environments, including performing installation and configuration, monitoring system performance and availability, performing upgrades, and troubleshooting.
• Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
• Good Communication & Report Writing Skills.
• Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management

Qualification & Experience:

• B.Tech in relative field with minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in Networking and Security field.
• 3 -5 years of experience in Security Engineer Role where involved in designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
• CCNA Switching and Routing is must, CCNP Security is good to have
• CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
