DP World Dubai Jobs – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Responsibilities:

• Refund Cases: Preparing RFPs for online refund cases which are raised by customers due to failure of transaction, close of DPW account, payment to the wrong service/ account.
• Manage intercompany balances for all Business Units of DP World UAE Region
• Liaison with external, internal and govt. auditors: Answering the queries of the auditors and explanation of schedules, bank reconciliations.
• Bank Reconciliation: Preparing bank reconciliations for all the bank accounts on monthly basis & passing the necessary entries for bookings & adjustments, as well as following up with Dubai Trade, IT department, A/P & A/R sections to clear the pending items/ transactions.
• Review and checking VAT Returns along with their workings and ensuring timely submission of returns
• Answering the queries and interacting with the departments mainly over the phone and through electronic mail. Generation of month end reports and ledger accounts.
• Ensure effective completion of month-end/year-end procedures & closing of accounts which include regular review of trial balances, review of individual general ledger accounts, approval of transactions, review and posting of journal entries, deciding on provisioning, co-coordinating with other Business Units and departments on various transactions, updating monthly schedules etc.
• Ensure commitments and compliance to Information Security Policies in terms of implementation and monitoring of Information Security Management system in your department in line with the Information Security Regulation (ISR) policy.
• Monthly scrutiny of the ledger accounts prior to closing of accounts for the month. Errors noticed during the scrutiny are rectified by passing of the rectification entry.
• Responsible for passing of month end journal entries and for ensuring appropriate accounting of revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities for DPW-UAE Region.
• Prepare power point presentations for monthly accounts and budgets to meet management accounting requirements when needed including preparation of the monthly KPI results.
• Confirming online sales on weekly basis through Oracle & preparing a report mentioning how much is generated daily from each bank through Online Payments.
