Applications are invited for the position of Internal Audit Specialist

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform walkthroughs of key areas of the business, identify areas for improvement and suggest remedial/process improvement actions to the management to better manage risks and optimise output. Promptly follow up on implementation status.
• Prepare reports and lead by example in the implementation of best
  Update all findings raised in the report during an assignment in the audit management system, schedule follow-up with relevant auditee as per agreed target dates for implementation.
• Perform Financial, Operational and compliance audits in specific areas of the business to identify and recommend improvements to better manage risk exposures.
• Participate in audit meetings and build positive working relationships with auditees.
• Be accountable for and provide support in the execution and completion of audit assignments in line with the approved annual audit plan.
• Draft findings identified during the assignment, agree on actions with the Line Managers (prior to the completion of the audit fieldwork) and follow up on implementation status.
• Support the Internal Audit Manager in the Creation/Amendment of the audit programme for newly identified risks or changes to initial risk assessments for all assignments.
• Execute and complete each audit assignment, (independently or in a team) within the budgeted time frame, including properly documented/indexed and cross-referenced Audit working papers
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  Analyse, provide insights and evaluate the productivity, potential and non-productive areas of the organization and recommend enhancements to optimise throughput
• Lead and execute independently small to medium size assignments. Interact with staff at various levels within the organisation and provide value added recommendation to the business
• Prepare audit programmes covering all risk areas and plan audit tasks to adhere to overall audit time constraints and budgets.
• Prepare the Audit Planning Memorandum, including scope and objectives for the specific areas as agreed with the Assignment Manager and auditee prior to the start of the fieldwork.
• Provide ad-hoc help & guidance to business units to achieve compliance
• Comply with all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls during audits performed
• Execute audits of different departments, projects etc and prepare reports with logical analysis and interpretations
• Document audit approaches, tests and evidence to support findings and conclusions prior to issuing the audit report/deliverable.

Job Requirements:

• A self-starter that is able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply judgment to provide efficient and effective solutions
• Awareness of deadlines and a commitment to achieve objectives within defined parameters
• Strong knowledge of Auditing methodologies and standards and be adept at assessing complex processes to identify potential financial, operational, and compliance risks warranting audit attention.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels throughout the organisation
• Expert Knowledge of the legal obligations and regulations as applicable
• Ability to work to the highest ethical standards

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum 6 years of experience with minimum 3 years in audit (external or internal)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Accounting Related Programs such as Management Accounting, Internal Audit
• Certified Auditor or Accountant – CPA/CA/ACCA/CIA/CFE/CISA or equivalent
