Job Description:

The Finance Product Manager supports the Manager Applications & Master Management to manage and deliver financial systems enhancements and support for Finance on a global scale, to ensure the provision of best-in-class financial systems, applications and management information for use internally by Finance as well as across the business, including to inform / enable commercial decisions. The role is expected to help in the implementation and compliance with the effective policies and processes for financial systems access and master data updates ensuring appropriate control over Group’s assets and accurate financial information processing.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify training needs arising from across the stakeholder groups and manage the delivery of the training plan for financial applications to enable better utilization of technology & adoption.
  • Manage the FA&MM support function as a point of escalation making sure support is provided in line with the Service Line Agreements (SLAs) agreed to keep the lights working with IT and respective external vendors and banks, as required. Have a proactive and foresight view on risks and issues and go cross-functional / cross-product if required to resolve escalations.
  • For strategic projects involving multiple products from FA&MM, play the role of single point of contact for respective Project Manager from the Finance PMO. Play project manager role for operational projects directly under FA&MM delivery responsibility.
  • Manage own performance & continuous learning plan. Help improve performance of the unit, help other members in the team with their development to support succession planning.
  • Accountability for ensuring all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documented and kept up to date by the respective product teams. This includes periodic review of roles & responsibilities to advise the department head towards optimization & continuously improvement of FA&MM functions.
  • Ensures customer success at team lead (peer) level across all stakeholders within and outside Finance for all topics under the responsibility of FA&MM. Plays a change management role by identifying business improvement opportunities across Finance and dependent processes outside of Finance, proposing solutions via technology, innovation, suggesting new products available in the market and providing recommendations on business process review opportunities.
  • Assure alignment of FA&MM processes to all applicable policies for User Access Management by providing proactive guidance for product teams under management including but not limited to periodic user access reviews. Provide a single point of contact for auditors, incorporate suggestions from audits and reviews to policy as advised by various internal & external auditing functions.
  • Keep an eye on changes in the external world to proactively identify impact to FA&MM. This could include periodic review of circulars / agreements (e.g. IATA resolutions, tax regulation notices, banking notifications, GDPR, PCIDSS, etc.) and guiding the product teams to plan ahead accordingly.
  • Ensure alignment with respective Technical Product Manager (TPM) and Release Train Lead (RTL) from IT to assure successful delivery of current Program Increment (PI) while playing lead role for planning the next PI coordinating across the FA&MM product teams under responsibility.
  • Assist department head on cost & budget management keeping for IT CAPEX projects & investments, OPEX (AMC & Licenses) and human resource management for the department. Facilitate contract management with Group Procurement, Group Legal and IT, coordinate RFP / RFTs preparation and responses for where FA&MM is involved.

Job Requirements:

  • Functional product knowledge of Financial Applications highly desired which include but not limited to: ERP Finance (Oracle Financials eBS preferred), Airline Revenue
  • Accounting, Direct Operating Costs, Payment Gateway, Treasury, Planning, Forecasting, Consolidation & Budgeting, Reporting / Analytics
  • Demonstrable continuous self-development through career is preferred.
  • Advanced product management skills, basic project management skills
  • Functional (Finance and/or Accounting) knowledge is highly desired.
  • Basic Accounting & Taxation knowledge
  • Ability to understand finance processes from a financial applications perspective
  • Ability to understand the wider impact of financial applications, understand how it fits in the overall technology landscape and how it enables the finance function
  • Advanced Operational Finance Knowledge

Qualification & Experience:

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
  • Degree in Technology, Finance or Accounting related would be preferred
  • Finance & Insurance.Finance Management : 8+ years
  • Experience in handling master management functions, preferably in an airline or aviation group
  • Experience in large multi-national companies in managerial capacity, focussed on applications / product management.
