Job Description:
Develop and implement transport policies and lead strategies catering to internal and external customers, through the management of internal and contracted providers. Focus on high quality of customer service and consistency in service delivery.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a focal point for internal departments to understand their specific transport and logistic requirements.
- Manage and maintain the reporting and investigation procedures for workplace incidents that result in loss or damage to the Group or third party assets.
- Support the department’s disruption and contingency response planning procedures by actively participating in the Incident Support Unit (ISU) and other critical contingency operations.
- Lead, support and supervise transportation division staff to effectively manage the contracted services.
- Responsible for cost management associated to transport activities undertaken during the shifts.
- Responsible to analyse information based on statistical data and make recommendations in order to ensure that productivity and customer service levels are maintained. Ensure periodic monitoring of resources to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Implement and monitor operational procedures to ensure they are adhered to by staff conducting duties and look for ways that will help in improving operational efficiencies.
Job Requirements:
- Negotiate as required with Service Providers and operating internal departments to promote cost effective solutions with minimal service failures.
- 5+ yrs Logistics/Ground Transport or Other.
- Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of public and business administration as applied in a large organisation with a view to secure their respective commitment to department’s goals.
- Ability to train and supervise technical staff;
- Ability to plan, organise, co-ordinate and evaluate the work of others;
- Ability to formulate goals, analyse alternative solutions and prepare budge recommendations.
- Must be detail oriented and possess good numerical aptitude and the ability to organise projects, prioritise workflow and complete multiple tasks simultaneously and accurately.
- Assist service providers in conducting customised training sessions as required
Qualification & Experience:
- Airport Ops experience is essential
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)
