Reporting directly to the Back of House Manager, the Steward supports the food and beverage operation by cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and the premises whilst maintaining hygienic standards and practices. Promotes the desired work culture around the five core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, One Team and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain personal hygiene
• Follows HACCP Procedures of the department and the hotel
• Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements
• Clean the kitchen and equipment
• Store goods
• Follows Health and Safety Rules
• Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
• Handle waste and linen
• Clean and store equipment
• Maintain storage areas
• Prepares kitchen equipment for use
• Attend to all briefings
• Assists with checking and receiving goods
• Clean premises
• Follows House Rules and Regulations
• Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
• Maintain a hygienic kitchen
• Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
• Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
• Follows Grooming Regulations
• Participate in training
• Follows Standard Operations Procedures of the department and the hotel

Job Requirements:

• Good understanding of English
• Able to work in a fast paced environment and can multitask
• Flexibility in shifts
• Concern for quality and attention to details

Qualification & Experience:

• Minimum one year of experience in similar role in a 4 or 5 * hotel
