Job Description:
A new initiative is being established to provide holistic and transformative Islamic religious and spiritual guidance to women and engage more broadly in social advocacy and impactful scholarly research that benefits the everyday lives of women. The initiative welcomes applicants from individuals of diverse backgrounds who are seeking to work in a value and purpose driven institution committed to excellence, integrity and service to women.
The ideal candidate will be responsible to lead in the development, implementation and management of an effective messaging and communications strategy in alignment with the vision and mission of the Center. This includes, but is not limited to, branding and visualization, website development, and a communications plan.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establishes and drives a multi-channel communications strategy.
- Develops a branding strategy and visualizations that is able to address a wide and varied range of audiences online, offline, nationally and internationally.
- Directs creative artworks for the various public programs and materials for the Center.
- Works with the Executive to ensure consistently branding and messaging across the initiatives of the Center.
- Maintains a functional awareness of other activities in the center and organizes the management of resources with them.
- Assesses social perceptions regarding the Center by conducting primary and secondary research and incorporating that into the overall branding strategy.
- Analyzes and understands the mission, vision and values of the Center and is able to translate that into a meaningful messaging framework in English and Arabic.
- Participates in Senior Leadership Team meetings to set ambitious, purposeful, and achievable goals for the CCEC.
- Develops, along with the communications team, a plan for marketing and promotional strategies to increase Center’s visibility.
- Actively participates in staff meetings for the purpose of conveying and gathering information on issues related to the Center’s reception and broader impact.
- Tracks engagement across various platforms and makes data-driven decisions.
- Manages website development and communications staff to ensure all of the Center’s messaging and public output is aligned with the overall communication’s strategy.
- Manages the development of digital, video, audio and print content.
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of data analysis and market research.
- Creativity skills to produce innovative and original communications and marketing ideas.
- An understanding of trends and is responsive to feedback.
- Ability to think strategically as it relates to branding and communications framework.
- Interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders and conflicting priorities.
- Ability to engage in iterative and co-constructed strategical conversations.
- Ability to make decisions and take responsibility.
- Ability to promote meaningful diversity within the organization and its communications strategy.
- Strong oral and written skills in both Arabic and English, with the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic design software.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field & 8-10 years of relevant full-time work experience. Advance degree is preferred.
- Six plus years of communications, marketing, or public relations regionally, or related experience.
- Experience managing communications and marketing staff and consultants and managing digital content.
- Experience in community engagement, especially in a higher-education or non-profit setting.
- Experience managing stakeholder and media relationships locally.
