Job Description:
When you think of food delivery in the MENA region, we’d be pretty surprised if talabat didn’t pop into your mind first! Since delivering our first order in Kuwait in 2004, we’ve grown quite a lot over the past 17 years.
Today, we deliver hundreds of millions of food orders, grocery items and other products per year, to our customers in nine countries throughout the region with more than 3,000+ employees! Our food delivery business works with over 27,000 brands and almost 50,000 branches, while our q-commerce concept, talabat mart, now delivers groceries to customers in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman Qatar, and the UAE in 30 minutes or less!
This role will be a hybrid between a strategic business leader, program manager, project manager, and analyst; we’re looking for an established manager with a proactive mindset who can understand drivers important to a rapidly growing business. The best candidates will be those with a consulting, strategy and analytical background that wants to be close to the company’s core.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ability to present the project finding to leaders and stakeholders from across the organisation
- Write executive summaries with the conclusions of the data analysis produced.
- Conduct quantitative research and analysis requiring complex data retrieval compelling recommendations for our leadership team.
- Quickly understand the business issues and challenges of Projects & operations’ performance; identify strengths/weaknesses and suggest areas for improvement.
- Deeply understands and strives for the improvement of business processes, data organisation, and data management best practices.
- Implement and optimise operations processes through excellent change management, appropriate KPIs and readiness.
- Guarantee or develop the necessary worksheets/systems to measure and evaluate performance, identify trends and reduce variability/defects in critical business processes.
- Assess the issues with a process, collect feedback, build a framework and work cross-functionally to solve problems.
- Identify process automation/improvement opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to implement initiatives
- Improve existing procedures; identify the needs
- Lead cross-functional projects in close collaboration with various functions, and country teams
- Take full ownership and create data-driven insights and analyses that influence development decisions and strategies by using the appropriate data and tools
- Create reports, dashboards and answer ad-hoc questions that would help our stakeholders make informed decisions
- Comfortable presenting their work in public.
- Determine business needs and scalable solutions to solve process issues through observation and analysis
- Discover through analyses opportunities for growth and optimisation
- Discover workarounds and solutions for complicated projects and MVPs.
- Working within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager. Hence will be able to provide inputs to change the control process.
- Collaborate on critical operational excellence projects, turning your strategic recommendations into reality.
- Lead projects and establish objectives and outcomes to achieve superior process metrics
- Own, drive and build essential reporting infrastructure to support ongoing use, improvement and Optimisation of core processes through automation.
- Strong cross-group collaborator: the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
Job Requirements:
- Independent on writing queries (demonstrates high competency in SQL)
- Can lead and execute reproducible analysis using Python/R or any other language
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with last-minute adaptations & changes
- Ability to communicate technical & operational findings/projects to all types of stakeholders
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to manage change and implement process improvements
- Has a keen interest in business and can use common sense to simplify data (and can zoom out to observe patterns)
- Demonstrated ability to work with data, data structures and data infrastructure
- Ability to assess the issues with a process, collect feedback, build a framework and work cross-functionally to solve problems
- Ambitious, self-starter who can manage through ambiguity
- Strong cross group collaborator: ability to communicate effectively with Senior Leadership
- Strong analytical skills and ease in navigating through different data sources
- Passion for service and continuous improvement
- High level of confidence in managing upwards and dealing with various stakeholders in the organisation
Qualification & Experience:
- 5+ years experience in analytics, and ideally hands-on business experience in fast pace (ecommerce) environment
- Proficiency and demonstrated experience of 7+ years in Excel, PPT
- Proven experience with SQL, Tableau and Looker is a must
- Experienced in project management and capable to use PM tools
