Job Description:
The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises seeks qualified candidates to teach in the area of Art History with an appointment beginning in 2025.
The successful applicant will teach a variety of Art History courses including introductory survey courses, upper-division specialized courses in contemporary art and design, design history, curatorial and/or museum studies, and courses related to the art of the MENASA (Middle East, North Africa and South Asia) region. Candidates with an innovative and interdisciplinary approach to teaching Art History are desirable, as are those with expertise in the area of Culture and Heritage of the Gulf Region, Islamic Art and Architecture, or Middle Eastern Art or related fields are preferred. Curating or Museum Studies are also strongly desired areas.
Job Requirements:
- A proven record of excellence at baccalaureate-level teaching.
- Dedication to curricular innovation.
- Commitment to a sustained pace of scholarship and/or creative activities.
- A record of professional accomplishment appropriate to their rank.
- Substantial level of computer literacy and a good proficiency of usage of IT in education.
- Willingness to provide service to the University and to the College.
Qualification & Experience:
- Applicants must have earned a Doctorate or Master of Fine Arts degree (or equivalent) in the appropriate disciplinary area. Experience with graduate programs would be an asset.
